The Days Shorten

It's a home made kind of day.

That's chocolate syrup by the way. So yummy.

Oatmeal with raw milk and real maple syrup.

It's an affront at first, having to say goodbye to summer. I'm never ready for the long farewell.
But I do warm up to the crisp Autumn mornings and the delicious fare available in the months of frost.

I'm slowly accepting the intrusion of Fall.

But it's still summer for another week so let's not get crazy.

A Little Smile Makeover

Sweet little Annabelle lost her first tooth biting into a carrot during lunch today.

She cried because she wasn't ready to loose a tooth yet but when quickly recovered when she saw her cute new smile.

And the tooth fairy was very sympathetic.

Bookish Friends

My elementary school closed last year and as soon as I heard the news I called the office to find out what they were going to do with my friends in the library. The books. I was told they would let me know when the set the date for a big sale.

This past weekend had a big sale of the school's property.

I was very anxious to be reunited with many of my old book friends with whom which I had spent so many hours  days  years growing up.

It was bittersweet.

But I was able to bring many books home with me and introduce them to my children.

How wonderful is that?

All kinds of crazy wonderful I say.

(That's my 5th grade signature up there on the first line, the card was still tucked within the protective jacket.)
