Father! – to God himself we cannot give a holier name. ~William Wordsworth

These handsome men pictured above are the father figures in my life. I am so grateful for each one and blessed by the relationship each one shares with me and my children. We learn from their strengths and their weaknesss; love them for their strengths and despite their weaknesses. Thank you Lord for these Godly fathers!
Since we married on June 11th, our anniversary has always fallen close to father’s day and we’ve often been out of town. But this year we are home and I asked Josh how he would like to spend his day. He replied that he would love to have brunch after church and just have a relaxing day at home. Well my love, that is just what you shall have!
Dad and Grandpa and Grandma joined us as Mom and I doted on the fathers. We surprised them with choice steaks to go with their made-to-order eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes and juice (not freshly squeezed, but freshly opened!)
The dads even got much needed and deserved naps.
Noah proudly presented his daddy with a card he picked out, printed off the computer and carefully colored. He had signed his own sentiment and his and his sister’s names all by himself. I was so proud of him. He loves his daddy so much; he lives to please Josh and it just crushes him to know that he has displeased daddy when he gets into trouble.
We weren’t able to see Josh’s dad today because they went to Kalamazoo for the day with Matt and Veronica and Petra to visit the air zoo. What a treat for an airplane enthusiast! John, Christine and the girls were also out of town at a friend’s wedding. But we’ll see them all soon for Petra’s birthday coming up.

What a perfect way to end the day!
I love you Josh. Thank you for being such a great Daddy.
