Japanese Honeysuckle

So lovely and fragrant. It's impossible to believe that this innocent vine could be an unwelcome trespasser in one's garden. I refuse to believe it and encourage it's growth. However, this summer I am finding it is getting around! I think it would be the perfect vine to grow on my pergola. Now I just need a pergola.

First day of summer

I've had a few suggestions for ways we can celebrate the first day of summer. We'll see how the day unfolds. What are your plans for this beautiful day?

Fun

We spent the afternoon and evening at Christine's, the children exploring outside with wagon rides, climbing trees and playing with the little critters. What a glorious day!

All right my lovelies. Today's color challenge is red. Accept the challenge by posting a comment!

Details of a happy day

Here Noah waits for his cousins. He cannot wait to show them something new in Papa's garden.

Four generations: my brother John age 32, my Grandpa John age 91, my Dad age 58 and my son Noah age 6 1/2. Christine did a great job editing this picture. (I hope you don't mind I grabbed it from your post!)

Noah reads his card to Grandpa.

A couple of pieces of hail from the storm that passed through in the late afternoon.

My love's family from left to right: his sister Christine, Dad, brother Matt and Josh.

Daddy

My but you've become a great man! Happy Father's day My Love.

My Dad

Love you Daddy!

Flag Day

Poster commemorating the 140th flag day on February 15, 1917
How to observe Flag Day: The week of June 14 is designated as National Flag . During the week, the President will issue a proclamation urging U.S. citizens to fly the American flag for the duration of week. The flag should also be displayed on all government buildings. Some organizations hold parades and events in celebration of America's national flag and all that it represents.

I think we'll have a parade.
